D&G 2010 Spring/Summer

I know Fashion Week has already passed, but I was just catching up on all the videos. D&G has so far been my favorite. Something inside me just resonates with the show. I love all the mix and match use of different textures of black and white, fishnets, lace, fringes, silk...so dark and mysterious. I was just thinking about using different mesh for my final design project, so this is a great inspiration. I also love how D&G still incorporated big bold floral prints in the collection. It is a spring/summer collection after all, these floral prints are like the flower buds that are just starting to bloom in the spring among a sea of black and white, like the winter. These are my favorite looks from the collection:

Somehow the entire collection took me back to WWII era. There's a sense of military discipline in the way the models walk. Or maybe it's the fringy flapper dress from the 1930s. I can't seem to pinpoint, but it's like a combination of goth and church properness. Why am I so in love with cold and ghostly looking clothes...

At the end of the show, all the models came out in a little bodysuit in either black or floral. It was such a clever idea to build everything on top of just a simple bodysuit.
