So over the weekend I was driving home from a day of shopping, and I was thinking about my brand Q., what it truly represents. I've been thinking about this for a very long time, and that day something just clicked inside me.
I would like to see Q. presents a form of simple, casual elegance. A minimalist at its best, and a little bit unique and futuristic. It's a blend of the Kate-Moss, Olsens, Aledander Wang & American Appearal. A lot of blacks, ivory, navy blues, blured hues and baby pinks. A lot of the basics pieces but twisted design, such as a simple T with a slanted edge or a cut out. Not so much embelishment, but more focus on the garment structure. I like the idea of the blend of cotton & cashmere to create high quality clothing. I would also like to say a lot of rayon to lower the price point, so that more style conscious people could enjoy my design. I also like the idea of unisex, the blur between menswear and womenswear. A simple white crisp dress shirt that would look sexy on a man, in turn providing a casual clean look on a woman. I want to create pieces that you could layer without looking bulky and busy, but you could also wear individually without looking underdressed. A must-have leather bomber, leggings, oxfords, slouchy Ts, mens coats, drappy long jersy dresses with the occasional sheer pinks and unexpected ruffles to create a sense of fairytalish in everyone's heart.
Q.'s customers would be someone in their 20s or 30s, with a lean physic and a dreamy feel. A determined dreamer who believes less is more and has a mind of his/her own. Someone who is never content with what they have, or what is out on the market, always looking for more, searching for the next "perfect" piece. Someone who needs to be unique and stands out from everyone around them without screaming "look-at-me". Someone who loves fashion and not the brand. Someone who is fun and not afraid to try new things. Someone who is a little bit shy and on the dark side. Someone who loves their body.
You might think the Q.'s clothing line is too plain and minimalist, wait until you see Q.'s accessery line. It will blow your mind away. The shoes will be of vibrant colors: turqoise, hot pink, nude platform heels, black lacy military boots. You will find the most unqiue selection of jelwery at Q.'s: crystal sckuls, red lip ring, amthems necklace, not so much beading, but a lot of platics, chains & crystals. Neon colored bracelets that go with our neon colored nail polish. Studded leather bags to go with our studded leather pumps. All these accesseries would go well with our muted toned clothing, creating the fashion forward trend many people could only achieve after years of experimenting.
The other unique service Q. is offering is our personal shopper experience. Since most of our merchadise is for the fashion forward, for people who knows exactly what they are looking for. We will provide free personal shopper on a walkin basis to guide our customers to put together the peices & accesseries that would create the "effort-less" elegance look they long to have. We would also create a lookbook of outfits with detailed cost breakdown for people to choose from. Most fashion houses would create one lookbook for each season and they stop, giving people the impression that if they buy the outfit from the lookbook, everyone else will be wearing the exact same outfit. Q. will aim to create a new outfit everyday from our very versatile selection of clothing and accesseries, and each of our personal shopper will create outfits on their own for their customers, thus it will be hard for our customers to see repeats on the street.
